INTRODUCTION
Many man-made disasters and blunders arise because of errors in human knowledge and acts. Such errors, upon further analysis, are often due to errors in reasoning and decision making. Hence, it is imperative that, in order to avoid or minimise the former errors, the latter errors be addressed meaningfully and effectively. How, according to Islam, is this to be done? And are there lessons to be learnt from the Islamic Civilization with its long tradition of scholarship in dealing with the aforementioned issues? Deriving from the treasure trove of knowledge and rational thought in the rich Religious, Intellectual and Scientific Tradition of Islam, the "Thinking with Wisdom" programme is aimed at highlighting the right way of thinking which leads to best conduct, excellent morals, and meaningful life.
OBJECTIVES
- To understand the nature of thinking in relation to the human mind and knowledge;
- To master prospective and strategic thinking through self-mastery and examining logical consequences of decisions; and
- To learn the ability to partake shared intelligences through systematic method of debate and engagement.
