PROGRAM BACKGROUND
Reorienting Leadership with the Worldview of Islam is a programme developed from an IKIM research project to establish a leadership course module, previously known as Praiseworthy Leadership.
The course explores the rich intellectual heritage of Islam in understanding leadership as a trust (amanah).
The programme emphasises that leadership is not merely a matter of power, position, or managerial skills, but a responsibility that requires sound knowledge, proper adab (ethics and manners), wisdom in judgement, and justice in action.
Through lectures, structured discussions, and case studies, participants will be introduced to key ideas from Islamic civilisation, selected classical texts, and exemplary personalities whose leadership principles remain relevant and applicable in contemporary settings.
PROGRAM OBJECTIVES
Upon completion of the programme, participants will be able to:
✔️Develop a greater appreciation of the role of the Islamic Worldview and Islamic scholarly tradition in shaping the understanding of leadership.
✔️Gain a comprehensive understanding of leadership from an Islamic perspective, encompassing both personal integrity and public justice.
✔️Bridge the gap between the intellectual foundations of leadership and its practical application in contemporary leadership contexts.
